At I Stegi, our primary mission is to rescue stray animals and extend compassionate care, accommodation, fostering, and veterinary services throughout the Kalampaka area in central Greece, near Meteora. We are devoted to providing a haven for animals facing sickness, maltreatment, and abandonment.

Our mission is to cultivate a sanctuary that transcends the conventional shelter experience by providing comfort, space, and care on an unprecedented level.

Our Dream Sanctuary

Instead of small, confining cages, our dream is to construct large, fenced areas containing kennels and shelters where dogs and cats can play, run, and relax in the sun.

The Transformation Journey

Currently, the dream resides in an aging structure. Christos, who lives on site so he can be with his animals, sleeps in a small building with no electricity. Another small shed, with part of the roof missing, is unusable. Our vision is to breathe new life into this space by constructing a small clinic for medical care and food storage, and accommodation for Christos and future staff.
